Liquid Options

Liquids That Work
You can use various salt-containing liquids to power your Balinyala盐电灯.
Keep in mind that higher salt concentrations speed up the reaction but shorten the duration of power generation by aluminum electorodes.

Household & Industrial Salt
Mix with water to create a 1%-10% salt concentration for optimal performance.

Condiments (Like Soy Sauce)
As long as the salt concentration is within the recommended range, these can be used.

Some sodas contain trace amounts of salt, but high sugar content may cause residue buildup and reduce efficiency over time.
Salt Mix (1% to 10%):
When sodas are mixed with salt to create a 1% to 10% concentration, the soda can also generate electricity.

River, Pond, and Lake Water
River Water:
Contains natural minerals and salts, but the low salt concentration means frequent refills.
Pond Water:
May work, but impurities could cause sediment buildup, affecting lifespan.
Lake Water:
Similar to river water, but performance may vary due to mineral content.
Salt-Mixed Water (1% to 10%):
When any of the above water types are mixed with salt to create a 1% to 10% concentration, the water can also generate electricity.

Additional Information
There is no disadvantage to using very high salt concentrations, but it wastes salt.

How Much Salt To Add
To use the saltwater lamp, mix:
40 grams of salt + 350 ml of water
This makes the right salt concentration for the lamp to work.
You can measure the salt using a regular 500 ml mineral water bottle cap.
One cap holds about 10 grams of salt.
So, add 4 full caps of salt (10 g x 4 = 40 g).
Total volume after mixing: 350 ml

Saltwater Concentration Affects Usage Time
Higher salt concentration = faster reaction = shorter use time.
的 Balinyala saltwater lamp can use household or industrial salt (1%-10% concentration).
Seawater (~3.5% salt concentration) can be used directly.
Some salt-containing drinks or condiments (e.g., soy sauce) can also work if the salt content meets the requirements.

Replacing the Electrode Plates
Once an electrode plate is consumed, replace it.
Each new aluminum plate allows for at least 120 hours of continuous use.
If used intermittently, it can last months or even years, depending on frequency.

Proper Storage After Use
After use, pour out the saltwater, rinse thoroughly with fresh water, and let it dry in a well-ventilated area.
Once dried, the lamp can be stored for up to 20 years.

Cannot Charge Mobile Phones
The lamp is not designed for mobile phone charging due to its low current output.
Storage, Cleaning & Maintenance
